Why the name Iowa Wolfpack? We often get this question. First of all we are all huge University of Iowa fans and three of us were former Cheerleaders at the University of Iowa and are alumni. The second reason is Mr. Wolf is our navigator and we follow him around like a pack of wolves. This has been our team name since 2001. Here is who we are...

Joe has competed in over 65 multi-sport/road races over the past 14 years. In that time span Joe has competed in 5 half Ironman triathlons, many Olympic distance and sprint distance triathlons, a marathon, and numerous half marathons, 10Ks and 5Ks. Joe has served as the captain of the adventure race team for all previous team events.

Brad is an experienced athlete and bicyclist. In the past 19 years Brad has participated is countless events that include multi-stage bicycle endurance events, road and adventure races. Brad has also completed the Triple Bypass Ride from Evergreen to Avon Colorado. Brad is known for his mechanical skills and is a specialist in the canoeing and biking sections. Legend has it that Brad once pushed a female team member the last 10 miles of a biking section on a mountain bike averaging 25 mph to make the 12-hour time limit cutoff by 2 minutes.

Paul’s love for the outdoors began at an early age as an Eagle Scout. Paul is an experienced navigator, outdoorsman and is a Mechanical Engineer by day. Paul has competed over 35 multi-sport/road races over the past 12 years. In that time span Paul has competed in 2 half Ironman triathlons, many Olympic distance and sprint distance triathlons, a half marathon, 10Ks and 5Ks. Paul has performed the orienteering duties for the adventure race team for each event. Paul is so experienced at navigating he once placed the race map high in a tree as an extra challenge. It's our belief that Paul is one of the top amateur navigators around.

Vanessa is a conditioned athlete who participated in college cheerleading at the University of Iowa for 3 years. Vanessa's enthusiasm and energy make her an outstanding team member as she has helped the team in countless ways since 2007. She is an outdoor enthusiast and has trained at a Division I level. Vanessa has also finished many running road races of various distances. She is an experienced mountain biker and has dabbled in cyclo-cross.
